the more you know the more you grow

I think that the website about myths and creation was really interesting. I think that it is really important for people to study and compare myths and creations from around the world because it helps all of us to better understand one another. I think that people who are uneducated are very ignorant and often judgmental. I think that if is a very good idea for everyone to learn whatever they can about different cultures and regions. I love learning and gathering new information because it makes me feel like I am well versed and more open to different ways of thinking. A lot of people are so stuck in there ways simply because they do not know anything else. The more you know the more you grow. I think that statement is very true, the more knowledge you gain the more you grow mentally and socially. So I liked that this website gave us information on myths from all over the world. I like to feel like I am connected and that by obtaining new information I can be knowledgeable about different countries all over the world.

  1. I really enjoyed this assignment as well. I loved the opportunity to find out a little more information about the past, about others, about the world around me in general. As you said, when we know where we live, it helps us to better connect with ourselves and each other. I know I am all for the idea of more cultural studies, I mean there are so many cultures out there we do not even know about. For instance, I am taking an American Sign Language class this semester, and I am actually learning a whole lot about deaf culture. I had never even stopped to think or consider the possibility of that, and now I love it and want to be apart of it. It makes me want to know more, and as you said, grow more with that knowledge. Great blog :)

  2. Cheers to your blog this week, Amanda. I agreed one hundred percent with everything you said and I think you have a very intelligent grasp on this situation. I definitely agree that people who are uneducated about their opinions are ignorant and have no place criticizing others. To denounce another person’s beliefs is not only rude and disrespectful but it is also in haste which causes a lot of unnecessary drama. I used to be like that myself and I realized, with age of course, that I was being just plain old stupid. Looking back on my past I realize just how stubborn and hard headed I was. I insulted anything I disagreed with and never once thought to stop and think about the other person. I think that everyone was like that at one point, and I think that everyone changes with age on issues like this. I believe that growing up really does teach you a lot about yourself and others as well and it’s important to stand up for what you believe in but it’s also important to understand where other people are coming from.

  3. Although your blog seems very short, I can admit that somehow you made your point go through. However, I disagree with you that people who are uneducated are very ignorant. This seems like a very controversy statement because many uneducated people can interpret their own myth about the creation of our Earth and at many times it can make more sense than these myths. I also feel like this statement could have been hold back because many uneducated people could have written a longer blog than anyone of us can write and at the same time make so much more sense. Other than that I like the fact that your blog was inserted with the statement of the more you know the more you grow. I definitely agree with this quote because the more we try to learn about the creation of Earth, the more we can actually open our minds to. Eventually we can even compare our own myths with those studied in other areas of the world and then conclude to what might be the actual myth of the creation of Earth. Whatever that myth might be, we can realize that world is joined together by knowledge and ideas that everyone shares.
